The kids went to college and we had and opportunity to replace old floor lamps with new reading lights. We bought two of these and two of the FL3037- Floor Task Lamps, both by Kendal. The FL3037 were fine out of the box while both FL4056 had problems with the dimmer switches.

On the one, the switch would not turn off the light, (twist the control, hear the click, light still on) The other the dimmer switch rotated only about 1/2 as many revolutions as the one that wouldn't shut off. Consequently the light wasn't nearly as bright. I wouldn't have noticed this had we only bought one. But putting them side by side it was clear.

But as far as styling and looks the reading lamps were great. The curved arm allowed the light more reach than the FL3037 allowing us to position the lamp farther away from the chair.

Note in the picture they have it backwards to the way I would have used it.

Satisfied with this contemporary reading floor lamp. Very well packed. Good value for your money.
